Tooth Colored Fillings

Tooth colored fillings are hardly noticeable to the naked eye and are aesthetically preferable to metal amalgam fillings.

Tooth Filling Options

Today you have several choices when it comes to selecting the material used to fill a cavity. Tooth colored fillings, or composite fillings, are a popular alternative to traditional amalgam fillings, because they match the same color as your natural teeth.

Tooth Colored Filling Placement

Tooth colored fillings are placed in a similar fashion as traditional fillings and completely harden within seconds. The dentist will first remove any decay and clean the tooth before applying the composite in layers while using a specialized light to harden each layer. The tooth is then shaped and polished to make it look and feel as natural as possible. In the end, the filling is chemically bonded to the structure of the tooth, making it 85% to 95% as strong as the original tooth.

Durable and Beautiful

These fillings have vastly improved in recent decades and are suitable for both front and back teeth as well as for closing gaps between teeth, repairing chipped teeth, or making teeth appear more even. They can last many years and are an excellent choice for maintaining your beautiful, natural smile while getting necessary dental fillings or repairs.
